During a 3 month self–imposed residency in Berlin in 2011, I created a body of work called “Sometimes at Night”.
I was working out of a studio in a very old building in Prenzlauer Berg. Above my studio I discovered the most beautiful decrepit attic, that seemed to compliment the paintings I was producing at the time perfectly. At the end of my stay I decided to install my paintings in this attic space and host a one night pop-up exhibition.
When I put up my work and the lighting it felt more like a big installation piece rather than just a painting exhibition.
